Suicide cleanup in Lakeland

If you have lost someone to suicide, please do not clean the room yourself. An independent company can do it quietly, so the last thing you see there is not the scene.

Someone picks up 24 hours a day, every day of the week

A woman sits at a kitchen table with a notepad and coffee, talking calmly on the phone

What happens first

A suicide is one of the deaths Florida law hands to the district medical examiner (s. 406.11). The police and the medical examiner's office come, do their work, and then release the home.

Once it is released, you can make the call whenever you are ready. Some families call the same day; others wait for a relative to arrive. Keep the door to the room closed in the meantime.

How the work is done

You do not need to be there. Many families give a key to a friend, a neighbor or the landlord and stay away until it is finished.

Tell the company about anything you want kept: a photo, a blanket, papers, a watch. They can set things aside, clean what can be cleaned and ask before throwing anything out.

Ask for an unmarked vehicle if that matters to you. Many companies use them.

When you are ready

Let someone else carry this part

You do not have to settle everything today. A company can explain the work and give you its price, then wait while you talk it over with family.

Speak with a cleanup company

The person who answers is with an independent company that does this work around Lakeland. Say what happened, ask how they would handle it and what it would cost. Nothing is booked unless you agree.
